Privacy Policy

Jayton is a coaching assistant built for grassroots football managers. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user. We have written it in plain English — if anything is unclear, email us at hello@jayton.app.
Who we are
Jayton is operated by Jayton App Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company Number 17252391). We are the data controller for all personal data collected through this website and the Jayton service.
You can contact us at hello@jayton.app.
What data we collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to run the service.
On the waiting list
- Your email address — so we can contact you when Jayton launches.
When using the Jayton service (at launch)
- Your WhatsApp phone number and messages — used to operate the assistant.
- Voice notes you send — transcribed to extract coaching observations.
- Player names, positions, observations, and session notes you provide — stored to build player profiles and generate reports.
- Your coaching preferences and settings.
Automatically
- Basic server logs (IP address, request timestamps) — retained for security and debugging purposes only, and deleted after 30 days.
We do not collect data about children. Player profiles contain coaching observations only — no names beyond what you choose to use, no contact details, no data that would directly identify a child. We strongly recommend using first names or initials only.
How we use your data
We use your data only for the following purposes:
- To operate and deliver the Jayton service.
- To send you waiting list updates and, once launched, service notifications.
- To improve the reliability and quality of the service.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not sell your data to anyone.
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:
- Contract — processing necessary to provide the service you have signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — operating and improving the service, and keeping it secure, where this does not override your rights.
- Consent — for marketing emails, where required. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — where we are required to process data to comply with UK law.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate Jayton. These are processors who act on our instructions and are bound by data processing agreements:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud infrastructure (servers, database, email delivery). Data is stored in the EU (eu-west-2, London).
- Meta (WhatsApp Business API) — message delivery. Messages pass through Meta's infrastructure in accordance with their Business Terms.
- Anthropic — AI processing for generating coaching outputs from your voice notes and messages.
We do not share your data with any other third parties. We will never sell your data.
How long we keep your data
- Waiting list emails — kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion, or until the waiting list is closed.
- Coaching data (player profiles, session notes, reports) — kept for the duration of your subscription, plus 30 days after cancellation to allow for re-activation. Permanently deleted after that.
- Server logs — deleted after 30 days.
You can request earlier deletion of any data at any time — see Your rights below.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your data.
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, where consent is the basis for processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@jayton.app. We will respond within 30 days.
If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics tool. The only technical storage used is what is necessary for the website to function.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and data minimisation. No system is completely secure — if you have concerns about a specific data security issue, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will notify waiting list subscribers by email.
